Trade Secrets: Tools for Innovation and Collaboration
This paper is part of a series of analyses commissioned by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) IP Commission to raise awareness about how IP rights work in practice. The paper explains why trade secrets are an integral part of IP management for organizations of all sizes, and how they are used in tandem with other types of IP rights notably patents. It provides insights for organizations about optimal trade secrets protection strategies, along with recommendations for policymakers.

GLIPA-Innovation Council event at the WIPO General Assemblies
Innovation Insights and GLIPA (Global IP Alliance) hosted a roundtable discussion in Geneva, on the margins of the 2024 WIPO General Assemblies. This event showcased efforts from IP offices around the world to increase access to IP systems and to build capacity among entrepreneurs, inventors and creators to more effectively use IP rights to partner, commercialize, attract financing, and scale their activities.

Learn2Protect Africa
Innovation Insights is supporting Qualcomm to drive uptake of its innovative online IP management training program for African entrepreneurs. Building on similar programs launched by Qualcomm with local counsel in Taiwan, Germany, India and the United States, Learn2Protect Africa walks entrepreneurs through the basics of IP protection. It also provides guidance for securing and managing IP rights at specific IP offices in Africa. We are helping to create a distribution network for the program.
